Last month was filled with adventure as I finally got to experience the city of Seattle, surf some narly waves in Waikiki and Turtle Bay in Hawaii, and camp in North Cascades National Park.
Now that I’m back in chilly and rainy Anacortes, sun burnt and needing a vacation from the vacation, I came to the realization that I need to be surrounded by a surf culture, and also civilization. After returning from Spain, now almost 2 years ago (where has time gone!), I’ve been wondering where to call home in the near future. This traveling experience has helped me narrow it down to: sun, surf, and community.
It’s not an easy quest to find a place to settle. Especially as a 30-something year old single adult. The possibilities are endless! And everyone has different thoughts and opinions about the ideal place to settle. Some want to be close to family. Others enjoy the mountains. Some prefer the beach. Some like cities while others want to live far away from people. I’ve learned to discover this answer of where to live comes from trying new things and different places so that you can form a better opinion about what you’re looking for in life.
If you don’t try something, how will you ever know if you like it or not? That’s been my big revelation this month and hope it helps someone else also struggling through where to go next in this big world filled with options and opportunities with the short time we’re given to enjoy it.
What does your ideal place to live look like?
Would love to hear your response 🙂
