Just started revisions on Part Two of the third book in my fantasy series.
I’ve always found Part Twos to be the toughest—they require everything to flow seamlessly in and out, and that kind of balance is hard to nail.
Now that I’ve finished the final revision of Part One, I’m staring down a whole stack of issues to fix in Part Two: chapter rewrites, brand new scenes to improve story flow, and making sure all the threads line up. It’s been overwhelming—enough to make me avoid the manuscript entirely just to escape the stress.
But today, I took a deep breath. I stopped letting the big picture paralyze me and tackled one issue at a time. One chapter at a time.
And I finished the first revised chapter of Part Two feeling more confident—in the story, in the direction it’s going, and in myself. This 700-page beast isn’t going to win. Not today.
As a little reward, I treated myself to some new character art. A reminder of the world I love and why I’m fighting to get it right.
